The Krewdelusion is a small parade in the satirical tradition of the Krewe du Vieux, the parade that it follows- Krewedelusion's professed mission is to rule the world. It is also similar to the Krewe du Vieux in that it is comprised of several "sub-krewes" that march with their own theme. Both krewes also follow the traditional Mardi Gras parade practice of using handmade floats that are either drawn by mules or by people. Krewedelusion's King in 2010 is the actor Harry Shearer, best known as the voice of several characters on the animated television show "The Simpsons". The krewe is only one of several allowed to parade through the French Quarter since the ban on the traditional French Quarter route was enacted for the larger krewes in 1972.
