Thousands of protesters with the "Occupy Wall Street" movement gather in Washington Square Park on October 15, 2011 in New York City. After a largely frustrating (and occasionally dangerous) encounter with the police department after a march to Times Square the protesters try to collectively decide on whether or not to "occupy" Washington Square Park that night despite its curfew of midnight. Shortly before the appointed hour it is agreed to meet on the subject the next night, although more than a dozen protesters do end up staying in the park regardless and are summarily arrested.
