Protesters with the "Occupy Wall Street" movement gather by the thousands in the early morning of October 14, 2011 at Zuccotti Park in New York City.  Brookfield Properties, owners of the private park, had requested the NYPD's assistance in evacuating the park to facilitate a routine cleaning.  With protesters gathered en masse and a confrontation likely, Brookfield rescinded their request at the last minute.  Feeling victorious and emboldened, hundreds of protesters then proceeded to march along the streets of Wall Street and promptly found the confrontation that had been avoided by the Brookfield capitulation.
