"I came in and it looked like a lot of other protests that I'd seen before but then I went past the people with the signs and into the interior and it was really different and the energy of it drew me in. I think it really just resonated with me what they were going for in creating this space where people were just directly democratic and equal and communicating with each other and people from all different places and times in their lives are trying to fix things. Everyone is responding to the same thing but in a lot of different ways and connecting to this resonant energy.

The fact that we're willing to be out here and give up our own comfort and all the things that used to define us in order to see what we can do to make a change and empower ourselves, that is significant enough, that's a demand. Just creating the space where people can talk is really important. Eventually one of the things I want to look into is a constutional amendment to repeals corporate personhood, basically the linchpin that would unlock democracy. For this community it's the one thing that people can get behind, it doesn't matter if you're an anarchist or a libertarian or whatever, you have to get money out of politics before you can do anything and you have to castrate the corporations before you can affect any change. Because if you try any legislation or any other direction its not going to stick because they have more money, lawyers, more everything and as long as they can control the political process nothing that we do through politics is actually going to mean anything.

So I think that we have to go big or go home and ratify an amendment which is a huge undertaking but I think that from my sense of the community everyone is here for high stakes, no one is here to just kind of screw around and do nitpicky little things, that would risk expending a lot of the political capital that we've spent a lot of time creating and are still creating."
