Mardi Gras: New Orleans
9 galleries
Mardi Gras has been celebrated in New Orleans since the city was founded by the French near the turn of the 18th century.
The city can be filled with much frivolity and reckless abandon during carnival season. For many however it is a time for family, community, and an opportunity to celebrate their unique city. With its unique culture, an amalgam of various societies, ethnicities, and beliefs, New Orleans is rich in tradition and it is on full display during Mardi Gras.
